The Intentional Timeline Behind Effortless, Elegant Wedding Days

11:30am: Details and Flat Lays (30 minutes)

I begin the day by photographing your heirloom details while the energy is still calm.

What I capture: Invitation suite (full set + envelope), rings (all three), perfume, vow books, meaningful keepsakes, shoes, jewelry, veil, boutonniere + loose florals

Why this matters:

Starting with details allows everything to feel unhurried. It also ensures your floral designer’s work and carefully chosen pieces are documented before they’re worn or moved.

Pro tip: Have all details gathered in one box ahead of time.

12:00pm: Getting Ready Coverage (1.5 Hours)

Light-filled rooms with minimal clutter elevate everything.

Bride’s Suite: Hair & makeup finishing touches, robe portraits with bridesmaids, mother zipping dress, emotional candid moments, Groom’s Suite. (Send 2nd shooter): Cufflinks, tie, watch, jacket buttoning, candid interaction with groomsmen.

Why 90 minutes?

Because rushing here creates stress that carries into the entire day. A luxury experience feels calm not chaotic.

1:45pm: Bride Gets Into Dress (30 minutes)

We intentionally build in buffer time here. This allows: Dress adjustments, veil placement, quiet emotional moments, a few solo bridal portraits by a window

No one feels hurried. No one is stressing about the timeline.

2:15pm: First Look (20 minutes)

A private, intimate reveal.

Why I recommend it: Calms nerves, gives you alone time and it allows us to use earlier daylight for portraits. I like to include enough time to get genuine interaction and beautiful candids you'll love to look back on.

2:35pm: Couple Portraits (30–40 minutes)

Immediately following the first look while emotions are fresh. We focus on: Romantic movement, editorial-style portraits, close-ups + wide environmental shots, natural interaction

This is not rushed posing. It’s intentional storytelling.

3:15pm: Wedding Party Portraits (30–40 minutes)

Efficient. Elevated. Fun.

We capture: Full party formal, Individual bridesmaids + bride, individual groomsmen + groom and candid movement shots.

Having this before the ceremony allows you to attend cocktail hour after family portraits.

4:00pm: Ceremony & Reception details (30 minutes)

All the details you thought so hard about now being brought to life.

I go through and capture all the details you have in your ceremony and reception space. Things like statement florals, bible verses, custom ceremony backdrops, custom printed elements & more.

I'm there to capture it all.

4:30pm: Ceremony (30 minutes)

A traditional ceremony length.

I document: Processional, guest reactions, vows, ring exchange, first kiss and recessional joy.

Unobtrusive. Intentional. Respectful.

5:00pm: Family Photos (30 minutes)

Family portraits take place immediately following the ceremony while everyone is present.

How we keep this seamless: Pre-approved family list, one designated family helper and immediate family only.

This ensures efficiency and keeps guests from waiting unnecessarily.

5:00pm: Cocktail Hour & Reception Details (60 Minutes)

Guests enjoy cocktail hour while I capture ambient guest candids as I've already captured reception space details.

If you chose a first look, you’re free to enjoy cocktail hour as well which elevates the overall experience significantly.

6:00pm: Grand Entrance & First Dance (15–20 Minutes)

High energy. Clean lighting. Seamless flow.

We move directly into: First dance, parent dances and welcome toasts.

Grouping these maintains guest engagement.

6:30pm: Dinner Service (60–75 Minutes)

During dinner: I capture light candids, table interactions, design ambiance

I also step away strategically to eat so nothing important is missed.

7:45pm:  Golden Hour Portraits (15–20 Minutes)

The most breathtaking light of the day.

We step away briefly for: Soft backlit portraits, movement-driven imagery, veil shots and romantic silhouettes

These 20 minutes elevate your entire gallery.

8:15pm: Open Dancing & Candid Storytelling (60–90 Minutes)

Real joy. Real celebration.

I document: A packed dance floor, champagne pops, emotional embraces and in-between moments

I stay through peak energy.

9:30pm: Private Last Dance or Grand Exit (15 Minutes)

Sparkler exit, vintage car departure, or a quiet private last dance.

A cinematic ending to your wedding story.
